V-Drum Happiness

Filed under: Gear — James @ 7:31 am

I’ve done it! Although I had already decided on buying a set of V-Drums, I wasn’t planning on making the purchase officially till next month. On Saturday Meb and I went to Guitar Center to do a little more research and check out everything they had at the Towson store. (I had previously gone out to the Glen Burnie location to play what they had to demo a while back.) I’m not a big fan of supporting Guitar Center but they made the deal sweet enough and I couldn’t pass it up. I bought the TD-3KW and I am extremely pleased so far. I spent a good half day yesterday putting everything together and tweaking positioning, etc. Although there may be small changes as time passes with addition of pads and stuff, I feel confident that the basic setup won’t really change. (Sorry about the image quality. I’ve got an old crap digital camera which I have got to replace someday!)

I’ll be taking more pictures as I get the rest of the gear purchased, which includes an M-Audio 410 and Drumkit From Hell Superior.

More to come…

The Bastards Caught Me!

Big Brother Bastards!

Pot Smoker Falkers!

So there it is. A Baltimore city red light camera snapped images of me running a red light. I totally don’t remember doing it at all. Long gone are the days where if nobody saw it, you didn’t do it. I miss those days a lot. Especially now that I have to pay a $75 fine. It would have been so much cooler if I was on my way to a show or something fun. But no, I was on my way to freakin’ work!

Electronic Drums: We Wants It

Filed under: Gear — James @ 9:10 am

I just spent entirely too long typing a post on my forum regarding my interest, research, and findings in buying an electronic drum kit. If any of you have any insight or thoughts on e-kits, please feel free to post a comment here or reply to my thread on the forum (you’re welcome to register if you don’t have an account already). I would appreciate any information that will help me make a solid decision on whether I spend $1500 or not.

Here’s a direct link to the thread.

Thanks!
