This new recording from Porcupine Tree is absolutely brilliant! I’ve had a gigantic grin on my face since I first listened to it yesterday. Gavin Harrison is on fire and Colin Edwin‘s bass playing and tone is genius for the entire thing. I am extremely pleased with the whole package! For those of you that missed out on the first pressing of the digi-pack version, they are repressing it! Buy it here.

“Only a few months after the release of the acclaimed Fear of a Blank Planet album comes this mini album (29 minutes of music) containing 4 lengthy tracks written during the same sessions, completed over the Summer, and now presented as a cohesive self contained PT work in their own right. The title track is an instrumental featuring Robert Fripp on lead guitar, and the whole EP moves through the full PT spectrum of atmospheric ambience, melodic hooks, and crushing riffs.”
One of the coolest and most talented local bands I’ve heard yet are playing at The Ottobar next Friday. They’re fresh off of a tour and back home to rock for us. Let’s all go and support them. Seriously. If you’re not busy and are up for it, come along. We’ve got a handful of people going so far. Here are some links to check:
